Madaripur Zila Samiti USA Hosts Vibrant Picnic in New York

The Madaripur Zila Samiti USA brought together the Bangladeshi expatriate community for a vibrant and memorable picnic held on June 29 at Belmont Avenue in Long Island, just outside New York City. The event turned into a festive reunion for Bangladeshis living in the U.S., offering a joyful day in a serene environment.

Participants of all ages and professions from children to seniors joined in the celebration. The picnic featured cultural performances, various traditional games, and a lively raffle draw that kept everyone engaged and entertained.

A number of local businesses and community partners supported the event, including Ashraf Chowdhury Khokon’s Eternal Care Service, Mohammad Siddiq Tanvir of Empire Care Agency, Safayet Khan, Mehek Exclusive Collection, Hemayet Hossain Himu of JR Knit Fabrics, Sanai Restaurant & Party Hall, Dreams Door Fashion, Rajib Sojib, the Narsingdi Zila Samiti USA, Rinkus Jewelry, Syed Shafiqul Alam, Taste of Bengal, and Ananda Driving School in Binghamton.

Notable guests included prominent New Jersey businessman Liton Hawlader and several visitors from Buffalo.

Madaripur Zila Samiti president Ziaur Rahman expressed heartfelt thanks to all attendees. “With everyone’s joint effort, we were able to host such a successful picnic. Next year, we hope to organize it even better with your valuable suggestions,” he said.

Special guests included Shamim Gafur, President of the Narsingdi Zila Samiti USA Inc., and General Secretary Ehsanul Haque Babul. Gafur emphasized the importance of preserving Bangladeshi heritage and values while living abroad. Babul added, “Even from overseas, we want to stand by the people of Madaripur.”

The picnic was graced by the presence of Madaripur Zila Samiti USA President Ziaur Rahman and General Secretary Russell Akand. Among the advisory council members in attendance were Md. Aktaruzzaman, Hemayet Hossain Hawlader, Abul Kalam Khan, Advocate Shahid Aktar, Hafizul Karim, Dr. Mohammad Ali, Dr. Moshiur Rahman, Motahar Hossain, and Motiur Rahman.

Senior Vice President Syed Mahbub Alam, along with Vice Presidents Sirajul Islam, Enayet Hossain, Syed Shafiqul Alam, Mohammad Kamruzzaman, and H. M. Saiyed Ahmed, were also present.

From the executive team, Senior Joint General Secretary Hemayet Hossain Himu, Joint General Secretary Serajul Islam Milton, Organizational Secretary Mahidul Islam Chowdhury, and Joint Organizational Secretary Jahangir Hossain actively participated.

Other key attendees included Treasurer Asaduzzaman Golap, Office Secretary Md. Masudur Rahman, Publicity Secretary Aminul Islam Murad, Literature & Cultural Secretary Mosharaf Hawlader, Sports Secretary Nazmul Hasan Shanto, Assistant Sports Secretary Nahiyan Akter, Faith & Religion Secretary Md. Shahid Sharif, and Women Affairs Secretary Saima Sultana.
